Rules

You and 1 rival crew · 6 nights · 3 vaults. Each side plans in secret, then both plans turn over together.

Goal

Have the most Loot after 6 nights. Equal Loot is a draw.

A night

  1. Plan: choose up to 2 crew from your hand and send each to a vault. Their Energy costs must fit your Energy this night.

  2. Seal: choose whether to Boost, then lock your plan.

  3. Reveal: both plans turn over together. At each vault, add up each side’s Power.

  4. Loot: higher Power takes that vault’s Loot. A tie pays nothing. Crew you sent leave play after the night; when your deck runs out, they are shuffled back in.

Energy and your hand

You start with 3 Energy and a hand of 3 crew, and draw one crew after each night. Your deck holds 2 copies of each crew.

Boost and Heat

Boost gives every crew you send this night +2 Power and adds 2 Heat. You must send at least one crew to Boost.

A night without Boost cools 1 Heat. Heat never goes below 0 or above 6; at 6, Boost is locked.

Your Heat after a night sets your Energy for the next one:

Questions

What is VEYLTAK?

VEYLTAK is a heist card duel you play in your browser against a rival crew. Over 6 nights, you and your rival each send up to 2 crew into 3 vaults in secret. Both plans then turn over together, and higher Power takes each vault’s Loot. The crew with the most Loot after the last night wins.

How does a night work?

Every night has four steps. Plan: choose up to 2 crew and a vault for each, paying their Energy. Seal: decide whether to Boost, then lock your plan. Reveal: both plans turn over at once. Loot: at each vault, higher Power takes the Loot, and a tie pays nothing.

What does Heat do?

Boost gives every crew you send +2 Power and adds 2 Heat. Heat lowers your Energy for the next night: 3 Energy at Heat 01, 2 at Heat 23, and 1 at Heat 46. A night without Boost cools 1 Heat, and at 6 Heat Boost is locked.

Who is the rival?

The rival is a computer-controlled crew. You choose which rival you face, and how hard it plays, before the heist starts.

What do I need to play?

Only a web browser, on desktop or phone. There is nothing to download or install.

Is VEYLTAK finished?

No. VEYLTAK is in development, and its rules will change as the game is tested.
